The Erasmus+ program consists of the activity in which a student registered in one higher education institution completes one period of his/her studies in a higher education institution abroad through a mutual agreement between institutions. Students who take part in the activity will be eligible to receive financial support (a grant). The grant does not aim to cover all of the expenses of the student, but rather aims to support the participant in paying for potential expenses.
In order for the students of the Faculty of Art and Design at İstanbul Kültür University to be eligible to take part in the LLP/ERASMUS Program, which offers students the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at a university in the European Union, the equivalence for the undergraduate courses provided in the 2001 academic year was established based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
According to the Decisions of the İstanbul Kültür University Senate regarding establishing an equivalence between the grading system of İstanbul Kültür University and partner universities and dated April 5, 2012 and January 22, 2015, it was decided that:
- Table 1 be used as reference for the course transfer of İstanbul Kültür University students who go abroad through the program,
- Table 2 be used as reference when assigning course grades to international students who have come to our University through the program,
- For partner universities of İstanbul Kültür university who do not use the ECTS system and do not provide an ECTS grade conversion table, the relevant departments and the Europe and International Relations Office prepare a mutual decision proposal with the aim of establishing equivalence on a university basis and submit the proposal to the approval of the senate.

The partnership between our University and European Union Universities was initiated in the 2004-2005 academic year and is continued and developed each year through student exchanges.
The duration of the activity differs for each level of education, and the duration may vary from 3 to 12 months (which may consist of 1, 2 or 3 semesters depending on the system in the country) within one academic year. The level of education refers to the associate degree/undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level.
